In November 2024, history came full circle as Roselyn Akosua Mantey—Guinness World Record holder for the Longest Marathon Makeup Application—returned to the very grounds where she etched her name into global history to host a five-day intensive skill training workshop in Accra.

Powered by Rossy Glams Artistry, the training drew an overwhelming number of applicants from across Ghana and beyond, quickly becoming over-subscribed within days of announcement. The symbolic venue made this edition even more special: the legendary Legon City, where Roselyn had broken the 103-hour makeup marathon record just months earlier.

Transforming a World Record Site into a Classroom of Dreams

What was once a stage for a world-record feat became a vibrant classroom, buzzing with creativity, learning, and empowerment. Over five days, Roselyn led participants through intensive practical modules designed to elevate beginner and intermediate makeup artists. Topics covered included:

  • Flawless Skin Work & Foundation Matching Techniques

  • Advanced Brow Mapping and Sculpting

  • High-Definition Bridal Makeup & Editorial Looks

  • Client Consultation & Brand Identity in the Beauty Business

  • Sanitation, Tools Management & Industry Standards

Participants were mentored not only in artistry but in building a personal brand, understanding the business of beauty, and aligning with international best practices. Each session emphasized professionalism, creativity, and consistency—key ingredients in Roselyn’s own journey to global recognition.

A Global Ripple Effect in the Makeup Industry

Roselyn’s influence continues to ripple beyond Ghana. The Accra training attracts attention from neighboring countries and diaspora-based beauty entrepreneurs and marks a pivotal moment for Ghana’s presence on the global beauty map. Her record-breaking feat and subsequent mentorship programs are positioning Ghana not just as a source of talent but as a hub for world-class artistry.

Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive, with many trainees already launching freelance services, collaborating with brands, and sharing their skills in their communities.

“Returning to the exact place where I made history to now teach others is deeply personal,” Roselyn remarked. “It’s proof that the same ground where you break records can also be where others begin their journey to greatness.”

Looking Ahead

With successful programs now held in Accra is solidifying its role as a platform for vocational empowerment in Africa. Plans are underway to expand the initiative to other regions in 2025 and partner with industry stakeholders to provide long-term mentorship, internship placements, and startup support for emerging artists.
