Big congratulations to Roselyn Akosua Mantey, Ghana’s newest beacon of excellence and innovation! On Monday, April 7, 2025, the Guinness World Records holder for the Longest Marathon Makeup Application officially presented her record-breaking certificate to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) at a press conference held at the Jake Obetsebi Lamptey Hall.

Roselyn’s remarkable feat — 103 hours, 25 minutes, and 33 seconds of continuous makeup application — etched her name in the history books and placed Ghana in the global spotlight once again. Her record-shattering ‘makeup-a-thon’ took place from April 3 to April 7, 2024, at Legon City Mall, drawing national attention and wide international admiration.

At the certificate presentation ceremony, GTA Deputy Chief Executive Officers Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah and Mr. Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey (Abeiku Santana) graciously received the award on behalf of GTA CEO, Maame Efua Houadjeto. In his remarks, Abeiku Santana praised Roselyn’s dedication, describing her as a true trailblazer and an inspiration to Ghanaian youth. He noted that her achievement not only elevates the visibility of the local beauty industry but also opens up unique avenues for tourism and cultural promotion.

“Roselyn’s passion and endurance are symbolic of the resilient Ghanaian spirit,” he said. “Her work promotes not just beauty, but creativity, vocational empowerment, and national pride. We look forward to seeing her represent Ghana at events like the Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival and other cultural showcases.”

Roselyn Akosua Mantey, visibly moved by the recognition, expressed gratitude for the support she received from her team, sponsors, and the Ghanaian public during the grueling five-day event. She emphasized that her record attempt was not merely about setting a world record, but about highlighting the power of vocational skills, showcasing Ghanaian beauty brands, and celebrating African creativity.

“I wanted to break barriers and change the narrative,” she said. “Our youth need to see that passion, hard work, and purpose can create global impact, even from right here in Ghana.”

In response, the GTA pledged its continued support for Roselyn’s upcoming initiatives, including youth mentorship programs, vocational training campaigns, and ambassadorial roles that will promote Ghana’s cultural heritage and entrepreneurship.

As Ghana continues to position itself as a hub for creative talent and innovation, Roselyn’s global recognition reaffirms the nation’s potential on the world stage. Her story is a compelling reminder that dreams backed by determination — and a good makeup brush — can truly change lives.
